India is setting record in COVID-19 tests reaching 3 crore through expansion of diagnostic lab network and facilities for ease of testing through the length and breadth of the country. In the last 24 hours 7,31,697 tests were being conducted and the nation is moving towards conducting 10 lakh tests every day.
The statement from the Ministry also said: “While the cumulative testing rose from 1.2 crore on 14th July 2020 to 3.0 crore on 16th August 2020, the positivity rate has seen a rise from 7.5% to 8.81% in the same period. Although a higher number of tests will push the positivity rate initially, as the Delhi experience has amply shown, it will eventually lower when combined with other measures such as prompt isolation, tracking and timely clinical management.”
Although, globally the pandemic is surging, there is positive news for Indians. The country is marching towards improved recoveries day after day. Monday recorded the highest single-day recoveries at 57,584 COVID-19 patients being discharged after cured from hospitals in last 24 hours. India has adopted a Standard of Care protocol for the differentiated categorisation of COVID-19 patients in line with the Clinical Management Protocol of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The clinical management strategies have been quite effective and hence yielded positive outcome.
