The war of words between the Punjab and Haryana chief ministers over the farmers’ protest does not seem to end anytime soon. Describing the call records issued by his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar as completely fake, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Sunday said that displaying a page of the official register has exposed Khattar’s lies. He said that if Khattar really wanted to get in touch, he could easily use the official channel or make a call on a mobile phone. It is to be noted that Khattar had alleged that he wanted to talk to Singh on the issue of farmers, but he did not answer even after constant calls.

Khattar had released a call record claiming proof of contact. Singh said, “If someone from his (Khattar) office called at my residence then why was the phone call made to the attendant (attendant)?” Why the official channel was not adopted to contact me? ‘

The Chief Minister of Punjab said, “The top officials of the two governments were in touch with each other for the last few days on the issue of farmers, from the Chief Secretary to the DGP level, yet none of the officials spoke about Khattar’s willingness to talk to me.”

Captain Amrinder Singh also targeted Khattar for his statement on corona, On Sunday, in which Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar attacked Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and said that if a dangerous situation arises due to the coronavirus due to the agitation of the farmers, then the Punjab government will be responsible for it.

The Punjab Chief Minister reverted, “If the Haryana government is so concerned about the spread of Coronavirus due to farmer agitation, then they should have not stopped them in Haryana. The track record of farmers has been abysmal in this epidemic, and not many cases of infection have been found in them. But even if Khattar is so worried, the farmers should have been allowed to go to Delhi immediately.”

Earlier in Hisar, Manohar Lal Khattar had said that the Chief Minister of Punjab used harsh words against me. While stating the reason behind not allowing the farmers to protest, CM Khattar said that we had refused to allow people to gather due to Corona infection and he wonders how the Punjab government allowed a sit-in protest at this time?

Additionally, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has welcomed the initiative of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the farmers’ movement. Captain said that the farmers should accept the appeal made by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to visit the designated place for the demonstration. This will clear the way for negotiations to begin soon. Welcoming the offer of Amit Shah to consult the farmers at the earliest, Captain said that it is in the interest of the farmers and the country. Amit Shah’s offer of talks before December 3 is proof that the Center is ready to listen to the farmers’ plea.
