PM Modi’s message clear and loud after taking Covaxin: Harsh Vardhan

pm taking vaccine

The Union Health Minister Mr. Harsh Vardhan said that the Indian Prime Minster Narendra Modi has sent a clear and loud message to the nation by taking the COVID-19 vaccine today.

PM Modi took his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at AIIMS earlier in the day and has appealed to everyone eligible to get inoculated. With this, the Indian PM has joined the group of world leaders who have taken the coronavirus vaccine.

Covaxin has been indigenously developed by Bharat Biotech. The PM has now given a huge boost to its efficacy feedback and all misinformation has been buried now, says Dr. Vardhan.

“I have been saying from beginning that both our vaccines are safe and perfect as far as immunogenicity is concerned,” said the Union Health Minister talking to the media. “We are thankful to the Prime Minister. He has always told us that you have to lead by example. He took the jab first of all, when vaccination of people above 60 years has begun.”

“PM Modi took Covaxin, against which a lot of misinformation was spread even when it was scientifically perfect. I think PM has given a clear message to the country. All misinformation and hesitancy should be buried once and for all,” he added.

Dr. Vardhan said that he himself will get the vaccine jab tomorrow after booking it today.

“I will do the booking today and I plan to get vaccinated tomorrow,” he said.

Initially, there were apprehensions among people whether the Indian vaccine would be effective with minimal side effects. However, it has turned out well and many people have already taken the first dose. With the Prime Minister taking the jab today, it has offered the additional mark of authenticity to the home-grown vaccine.

The vaccine can be taken in both government and private hospitals across the country.
