Shushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case is turning murkier with a new twist each passing day. The actor’s father had filed a case against Rhea Chakravorty in Patna following which Bihar Police sprung into action and landed in Mumbai for further investigation. Apparently, this led to a tussle between Mumbai Police and Bihar Police, one blaming the other. Bihar Police’s involvement in the case has drawn flak for Mumbai Police raising questions on their handling the case.
Now, the Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Vir Singh has come out and addressed the media on the progress of the case. He said that as soon the news came to them, Mumbai Police rushed to the location and completed all procedures as per protocol. According to him, there wasn’t any laxity in probing the case.
“After recording the statements of the people present over there we did our investigation and sealed the flat. On June 15th, we handed over the flat after collecting all the pieces of evidence post the forensic and medical team’s examination,” added Singh.
He says that the Bandra Police is doing a great job. More than 56 people have been interrogated so far in connection to the case, including several celebrities. “We are currently examining Sushant’s gadgets like laptops and phones. The investigation is still under process and we have looked into all angles (financial, health) possible and interrogated many people till date and it’s still under process,” said the Mumbai Police Commissioner Singh.
Regarding the new FIR filed by Sushant’s father, the Commissioner said that during the initial investigation, none of the family members of the deceased actor including Sushant’s father, three sisters, and his brother-in-law raised any kind of suspicion back then. “The statements recorded back then clearly states that they don’t have any kind of suspicion on anyone. Sushant’s sisters and brother in law even met our Joint and Deputy Commissioners as well later but never raised any query about doubting anyone.”
Meanwhile, many people have already demanded a CBI inquiry into the case. Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has stirred a hornet’s nest and stoked issues like nepotism in Bollywood.
