Mayawati says President Kovind should’ve been invited to Ayodhya, attacks SP over ‘Lord Parshuram’ statue

With eyes set on the next assembly polls in 2022 after Samajwadi Party, BSP is also trying to woo Brahmin voters. Soon after the announcement by the SP to install a 108-foot tall statue of Lord Parshuram, BSP supremo Mayawati has also announced to install a grander statue than SP when she comes to power.

Mayawati also told the media in Lucknow that if the BSP comes to power this time, then a large number of modern hospitals and community centres with all necessary facilities will be built in the name of Saints, Gurus, and great men born in Parashuram and all other castes and religions. Will do it.

“When the BSP comes to power, modern hospitals and community centers will be constructed especially in the name of Parshuram — considered the symbol and pride of the Brahmin community— as well as an icon of other religions and castes,” Mayawati said in a statement.

She also said if people from the Kshatriya and Vaishya community expressed their desire, their sentiments would also be kept in mind and fulfilled.

Mayawati, who contested the Lok Sabha elections along with SP in 2019, accused SP chief Akhilesh Yadav of acting with a racist mindset. She said SP is talking about installing the statue of Parashuramajust for political benefits and for the votes of Brahmin society. If they really had to install the statue of Parashurama, they should have done it during their former reign.

Further, accusing the BJP of taking political advantage of the Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Mayawati said, “It would have been better had the President who belongs to the Scheduled Castes was also invited for the Bhumi Pujan. This would have sent a good and strong message.”

Mayawati said that Rama is associated with people’s faith. There should not be politics on this.

SP has sharply responded to Mayawati’s statement as SP National Secretary Abhishek Mishra said, “There is evidence from Lucknow to Noida whose idols were installed in the BSP government.”

“Mayawati has been CM four times. If she wanted to install Parashurama’s idol, she would have got it installed earlier.”

Mishra also attacked BJP and said “if the BJP is also concerned about the Brahmins, then get a statue higher than the SP. In the SP government, a holiday was announced on Parashuram Jayanti. The BJP government has abolished it.”

Further, giving clarification on the idea of installing Lord Parshuram’s statue party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said,“Some of our leaders, under the banner of Bhagwan Parshuram Chetna Peeth, expressed their desire to build a statue of Parshuram, and the party approves it as it is a matter of faith, not a competition.”

It is to be noted that Parashurama is considered the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Born as a Brahmin, he carried traits of a Kshatriya and was regarded as a Brahmin Warrior.

On the other hand, BJP has said the SP and BSP are directionless and without any vision. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said “Mayawati and Akhilesh are directionless leaders. In the coming 2022, the SP, BSP and Congress will jointly contest and lose because the politics of the opponents is directionless.”

The state government is very serious about increasing cases of Corona infection in the district, which is why the deputy CM was in Kanpur on Monday where he held a press conference after a meeting with the officer. In reviewed facilities in hospitals for the treatment of corona and directed to increase the number of ventilators in hospitals by increasing the level three facilities. He also emphasized on increasing the number of daily sampling and investigations.
