Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has made a sensational claim about the Bharatiya Janata Party. Janata Dal (Secular) leader Kumaraswamy has told the media that the BJP had offered him the post of Chief Minister before the Lok Sabha elections. His remark has sparked big speculation over a BJP-JD(S) merger in the future. The JDS leader, however, said that there is no question of seat-sharing, aligning with any party and further added that his party plans to fight all the 224 seats in the future election.
When Kumaraswamy was asked whether the birthday greetings he received from Prime Minister Narendra Modi or other senior BJP leaders or the best wishes on other occasions are indications for a future alliance? In response to this question, Kumaraswamy said that there is no question of seat-sharing with any party. This was an old issue. We will contest on all 224 seats in the coming election. On receiving greetings, he said that it could be due to the political career of his father (former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda).
Talking to the media, while answering the question of a merger with BJP, HD Kumaraswamy said that “(our party) is not so foolish that it will commit suicide by merging itself with BJP.”
Kumaraswamy, during a conversation with a leading daily, admitted that some of his party leaders may leave the party soon. Kumaraswamy said, ‘I know very well which MLAs are talking to other parties’ … He further said,’ I have spoken openly to them that they should stop such anti-party activities, and leave JD (S. ). They can go at any time to save themselves. ‘
Meanwhile, JDS leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has appealed to the farmers to use the new agricultural laws with an open mind once. At the same time, the former Chief Minister also warned about the impact on India due to the farmer movement at the international level. Along with this, he also requested Prime Minister Modi to find a solution to this problem.
HD Kumaraswamy has tweeted that due to the farmers’ movement, there is a feeling of dissatisfaction in India. He has demanded the Modi government to secure India’s reputation at the global level by finding the solution as early as possible. He has also urged the farmers to use the new agricultural laws for at least one year, as suggested by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Not only this, but Kumaraswamy also assured the farmers that if there is a problem after adopting the agricultural laws, then these laws will be withdrawn. It is to be noted that the farmers’ organizations agitating against the three new agricultural laws of the central government have decided to negotiate with the government. Farmers’ organizations have proposed the next round of talks with the government on December 29 at 11 am. However, the farmers’ organizations have also put four conditions before the government regarding the negotiations. The first condition of farmers is that the government cancel all three new agricultural laws. At the same time, the second condition is to give a legal guarantee of MSP (Minimum Support Price). The third condition calls for a change in the draft electricity bill, and in the fourth condition, a demand is made to exclude farmers from the stale law.
