Former Union Minister and Rajya Sabha MP JyotiradityaScindia reached the Union Headquarters in Nagpur for the first time on Tuesday. This was his first visit to the RSS headquarter after joining the Bhartiya Janata Party. Many political analysts believe that this visit also indicated that Scindia, who left Congress after alleged differences with the then Chief Minister of MP Kamal Nath and senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, has now fully settled in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the BJP. Scindia’s visit is also considered to be very important owing to the by-elections in 27 seats of MP Assembly in the near future.
JyotiradityaScindia, who arrived in Nagpurfive months after joining the BJP, first visited the residence of RSS founder KB Hedgewar. Then he went to the Hedgewar Smriti Bhavanin Reshambag where he paid tribute to the founder of RSS.
“This place definitely gives inspiration. Anybody from anywhere in the country can get inspiration here about dedication towards nation (rashtrakepratisamarpan),” he said.
Scindia was on a one day visit to Nagpur and his visit to the city was also being considered important as many veteran BJP leaders in Nagpur have been opposing the candidature or Pro-Scindia ministers and former MLAs supported by Scindia. The firmer congress part leader has been tasked to ensure that the candidature of all these candidates goes on smoothly and the by elections are held without any obstruction from within the party.
Scindiaalso went to the RSS headquarters and held talks with senior officials of the organization there. However, neither Scindia, senior officials and neither the BJP nor the office bearers of the organization said anything related to the talks that were held between the Scindia and the organisation.
Speculation were also ripe that Scindia met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat too. However, nobody from the RSS confirmed his meeting with Bhagwat, sources close to the development said Scindia squeezed time to go to the headquarters without anybody noticing him and had a meeting with the chief.
While interacting with the media person in Nagpur JyotiradityaScindia refrained from commenting on the power tussle and confusion related to the leadership crisis in Congress. Asked about the confusion over leadership in the Congress, he said, “That is their internal matter. It will not be proper to comment on it.”
Sources claim that a vehicle was sent to airport by the RSS and Scindia came straight to meet Bhagwat after he landed around 11 am. The sources further added that Scindia has a 4 hour long meet with the RSS chief.
Later, Uttar Pradesh BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj also visited the RSS headquarters and met Bhagwat. “I come to Nagpur once every year. I have come to meet a friend here, so not visiting the RSS wouldn’t have been proper. So, I have come here,” he told the media.
It is to be note that JyotiradityaScindia had joined BJP with 20 MLAs in March earlier this year. This move played an important role in helping BJP to come into power in the state as Kamal Nath’s government failed to prove majority and they were forced out of power.
While joining the BJP Scindia had said that the Congress was no longer the party it was before. He had also said that for him, two incidents were life-changing “One was the day I lost my father and second when I decided to choose a new path for my life.”
