It’s Ram that defines Indian culture: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday fulfilled a long-drawn promise and movement by the BJP after performing the ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, which was mandated by the Supreme Court of India. Before the Bhoomi Poojan, PM Modi went to the 10th-century Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya wherein he offered special prayers.

PM Modi began his speech by chanting Jai Siya Ram and thanked all citizens of the country as well as Indians across the globe on the momentus and pious occasion.

Siyawar Ramachandra ki Jai! Siyawar Ramachandra ki Jai! Jai Siyaram! Jai Siyaram! Jai Siyaram! chanted PM Modi.

“A grand temple will now be built for our Ram Lalla who had been staying makeshift tent till now. Today, Ram Janam Bhoomi breaks free of the cycle of breaking and getting built again – that had been going on for centuries,” said the prime minister.

Modi said that Bhagwan Ram truly defines Indian culture. “On this monumental occasion, I extend my heartfelt greetings to all the ardent devotees of Lord Rama, my fellow countrymen, and the crores of Indian nationals spread across the continents,” he said.

He further added that Lord Rama has the same message for today’s India and all of us. “I am sure we will move ahead, our country will move ahead. This temple of Lord Rama will continue to inspire and guide humankind/ humanity for years to come.”

He also drew parallels to the self- restraint way of Lord Rama which is much more “needed today in the situation of Corona Pandemic. We need to maintain a safe distance of two yards and always wear a mask.”

“I pray to Lord Rama that to keeps my country healthy and happy. May Mother Sita and Lord Rama continue to shower their blessings on all. With this, I once again congratulate the countrymen on this occasion,” as per excerpts of his speech.

He said that Lord Rama epitomizes the ethos of our nation. PM Modi assured that Shree Ram Temple would be the modern symbol of the Indian culture. The Ram Mandir will symbolize the country’s eternal hope.
