Indian Army procures “Bharat” drones to beef up accurate surveillance along China border

As a measure to step up surveillance due to the ongoing border tussle with China, Indian Army has procured drones called Bharat from DRDO. The indigenously developed drones would help the army in accurate vigilance along the border.

It becomes highly paramount to maintain a high altitude surveillance to prevent any unexpected intrusion by the enemy as these are mountainous terrains. The border areas along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh is on a high alert ever since the dispute with China. Several rounds of talks had already taken place between India and China to diffuse the tension.

“The Indian Army requires drones for accurate surveillance in the ongoing dispute in the Eastern Ladakh area. For this requirement, the DRDO has provided the Bharat drones to it,” said the defense statement to the media.

The high caliber Bharat drones have been manufactured in a Chandigarh laboratory of the Defense Research and Development Organization.
