CM should’ve been invited to accompany Modi, PM’s Hyderabad visit testament to Telangana’s achievement

KTR Modi

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) acting president K.T. Rama Rao said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to India Biotech facility on Saturday was to provide political benefits to the BJP in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections. He said that the people of Hyderabad know that there was definitely political motive behind the Prime Minister’s visit. A day after Modi visited the biotech facility during a three-city tour to take stock of the development of the Kovid-19 vaccine, Rao said, “People are smart.” Do not think that they are too naive. KTR also questioned that why was the chief minister of Hyderabad K Chandrasekhar Rao was not invited to receive the Prime Minister when he reached Hyderabad. In this regard, Rama Rao said that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister are not individuals but institutions and they should respect each other. He also said that Chandrasekhar Rao should have been invited to receive the Prime Minister.

While talking to journalists a few hours before campaigning on the last day for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election, “Modi came for the second time in six years and that too just two days before the elections. People understand this very well.” KTR said the BJP remembers the vaccine when it talks about elections in Bihar or Greater Hyderabad.

KTR, who is the Minister for Industry, Information Technology, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, recalled that he visited Bharat Biotech three months ago. He said, “In fact, Bharat Biotech, Biology E and Indian Immunological had all clearly stated that no central government official talked to them about the development and distribution of the vaccine.”

The minister said that PM’s visit again confirms and supports that Hyderabad is the vaccine capital of the world and the TRS government has supported the expansion of the life science ecosystem in Hyderabad. He added that PM’s visit is a testimony to the good work being done in the state.

“Let me also thank him (Modi) because it (Modi’s visit) indirectly indicates that the Telangana government has supported the expansion of life sciences ecosystem in Hyderabad. His visit itself is a testimony that good work is being done here,” KTR said.

TRS leader, TRS president and Chief Minister K.K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s son targeted the PM for saying that the Chief Minister does not need to come to the airport to receive him.

KTR said,” In any State, there are some protocols. If they are followed it is good for the system. Whether it is CM KCR or whoever the CM is or whoever the PM is, there has to be respect between the institutions. It is good for the nation.”

“CM (KCR) should have been invited. When he was ready to go and welcome the honourable Prime Minister, what is the harm in it? He did not lose any respect. It is they who lost their respect,” he added.

It is to be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited 3 cities Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune on Saturday to review the works to develop a vaccine against Covid-19 epidemic. In this episode, the Prime Minister went to the production unit of Bharat Biotech in Gnome Valley near Hyderabad and reviewed the progress of the potential vaccine being developed by the institute.

During an hour-long conversation, the TRS leader targeted the BJP strongly for referring to Osama bin Laden, Akbar, Babur during the GHMC election campaign and using words like ‘surgical strikes’ to push Hindutva’s agenda firmly. KTR said that in every election BJP raises the issue of Hindu-Muslim and Pakistan because it cannot speak on the real issues of development, economy and jobs. He said that in a country with a population of 132 crores, there are 30 crore Muslims. What happens to the country if you present the whole community as villains, terrorists and isolate it on religious grounds. He said that the people of Hyderabad are sensible and expressed confidence that TRS will win in GHMC elections.
