After the Bihar assembly elections, now the Bharatiya Janata Party has tried to increase its penetration in the southern states. In Telangana, campaigning for the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections is going on these days. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Tejashwi Surya has targeted AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Tejashwi Surya said that Asaduddin Owaisi is the incarnation of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, to vote for him means to vote against India.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will be elected on 1 December. Tejashwi Surya, president and MP of BJP YuvaMorcha, who arrived in Hyderabad to campaign for the party, targeted Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi, saying these people speak the language of Jinnah and they did not allow development in Hyderabad. He alleged that AIMIM leaders talk about bringing Rohingya Muslims, but do not talk about development.
“Government is not working for the common people of Telangana…. the government is working only for one family of Telangana,” he said.
Tejaswi Surya said, “Owaisi speaks the language of Islamism, separatism and extremism like Jinnah. Every citizen of the country should stand up against the divisive and communal political of Owaisi.” Firebrand BJP MP Surya has called the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections to be held on December 1, the gateway to the BJP in the south.
Surya said, “Change Hyderabad today, tomorrow Telangana will change, day after day the whole of South India will change. The whole country is looking towards Hyderabad.”
Taking a jab at the TRS, he said democracy’s definition has changed in Telangana.
“…What is going on in Telangana and Hyderabad? Government and party, of the family, by the family, for the family,” he said.
Meanwhile, the head of AIMIM and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has hit back at the BJP. He said that if 30,000 Rohingya have come, then what is Home Minister Amit Shah doing.
While promoting his candidate on Monday evening, Tejashwi responded to Surya’s statement in which Tejashwi accused him of giving Rohingya Muslims a place in Hyderabad. Owaisi retorted, “If 30,000 Rohingya Muslims have become voters here, does it not mean that Amit Shah is sleeping?” It is their responsibility of how 30-40 thousand Rohingya got registered. If BJP is really honest, please tell me 1000 names by Tuesday evening.”
Meanwhile, KCR’s daughter Kavitha warned Tejaswi Surya to be careful when speaking about Hyderabad. Replying to Tejaswi’s comments Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Monday said “The gentleman from Bengaluru should understand that we belong to the city which respects the culture and lifestyle of everyone. People of Hyderabad care only about development. “
“I challenge the BJP leader to tell what have they done for Hyderabad? How much flood relief have they provided to the city?” asked Kavitha.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election has become quite interesting this time. Where BJP, on one hand, wants to increase its base. So there TRS wants to maintain its supremacy. Owaisi’s party AIMIM had helped TRS in the assembly elections but this time the two are contesting separately. At the same time, Congress is also fighting as a strong force here. TRS succeeded in 80 of 150 seats in 2015 elections.
