Politics continues on the issue of farmers’ protest in many states including Punjab and Haryana against the three new agricultural laws passed by the centre. Meanwhile, the main opposition party in Punjab AamAadmi Party (AAP) targeting the meeting of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh with Home Minister Amit Shah has called it a conspiracy. Senior AamAadmi Party (AAP) leader and chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj on Thursday said that the meeting between Punjab chief minister and Home Minister was nothing but a ‘conspiracy’.
During a press conference, AamAadmi Party chief spokesperson and party MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj said that until a few days ago, Captain Amarinder Singh was warning to resign if black laws were not withdrawn and three days later his son received a notice from the Enforcement Directorate and soon after things started changing rapidly.
He said that now Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder, after meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, started advising farmers to resolve the issue instead of seeking to withdraw black laws and guarantee MSP in the law. The AAP spokesperson further said that the Punjab CM is now describing it as a matter of national security, while the Delhi Police has stopped the farmers on the border.
Senior AamAadmi Party (AAP) leader and chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “Captain Singh has also asked the farmers to settle down the situation. The farmers have clear demands that all these three laws should be immediately rolled back and the Center should give an official structure or legal structure to the ‘Minimum Support Price’. After the meeting, he did not speak about the demands of the farmers. Instead, he said that the Central Government should settle down the matter and that the farmers should also settle down the matter because the situation is becoming a threat to the national security of the country.”
During a press conference at the party headquarters on Thursday, Saurabh said that in the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections, the BJP and RSS had formed a Congress government seeking votes for the Congress. He said that after leaving the meeting, Captain Amarinder Singh was seen smiling on his own statement.
Further, Saurabh questioned the Punjab CM to tell the people of Punjab that when millions of farmers of Punjab, the same people who voted Captain Amarinder Singh Ji to become the CM, are present at the border of Delhi to fight for their right, how did he return without meeting those farmers, did he not see the farmers sitting on the border?
It is to be noted that Punjab Chief minister met Union Home minister Amit Shah on Thursday and after the meeting, he said, “Discussion is going on between farmers & Centre, there’s nothing for me to resolve. I reiterated my opposition in my meeting with Home Minister & requested him to resolve the issue as it affects the economy of my state & security of the nation.” Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday announced financial assistance of 5-5 lakh to the families of the two deceased farmers. Farmers named Gurjant Singh, Gurbachan Singh died in the ongoing farmer movement.
